Here is a comprehensive analysis of the inputs and consequences involved with the seemingly simple choice of how to carry your items home from the shop.  Maybe this is why I like to keep used boxes around for all sorts of things.  Until we all shop for fewer items we had better keep those reusable bags in our trunks or behind the seat.  When will we get the report on the impacts of production of the reusable bags?  I'll pass along what I might uncover when I find a report to answer: Paper or plastic or cloth or...?
